About Us
Owner/Operator and Designer Eva Georg is originally from Alberta but moved to BC in 1991.
She settled into West Coast living and Vancouver life while attending college and working in some of the city’s busiest restaurants and bars.
While pregnant with her first child back in 2000, she took a small business course at VCC hoping that would lead her to a career in the hospitality industry.
However, that plan was quickly set aside after the birth of her daughter, Annika. Life as she knew it would change in more ways than one.
In fact, opening Belly and Beyond was a result of becoming a mother herself. A leisurely walk with her baby girl changed Eva’s career path.

During that walk she stumbled across a children’s consignment store which was for sale. She bought the store and spent the next two years building the business and gaining insight into what her clients wanted and what was really lacking: fashionable maternity clothes.
Her love for fashion and design, her keen eye and willingness to cater to her clients’ needs Eva realized that many women want to stay fashionable during their pregnancy and are frustrated with the lack of choices out there.
Eventually a second location, on Main Street, was opened where Eva could focus more on the maternity line by carrying a larger variety of high end designer pieces all while supporting fantastic local artists/designers.
Shortly after opening the Main St. location, Eva met Rachael Chatoor, mother of 2, who was in the process of opening her own children’s store. Impressed with each other, they decided to pool their resources and vision. Rachael joined Eva as a partner in Belly & Beyond.
The two realized that if they shared the responsibilities of growing a business together, they would still have time to be everything they wanted, most importantly mothers to their growing families.
In working together, they found they have very similar visions and work ethics, and realized that they compliment each other in many important ways. Each one brought different skill sets to the business that rounded out the complete business and had the ability to take Belly & Beyond to the next level
They put special care and attention into choosing the pieces that her clients want, like high end designer maternity jeans and one of a kind pieces.
A sense of community is also very important to them and every month the store sends maternity and baby clothes to charities in need.
Belly and Beyond is also developing a program to help benefit teen moms and expectant teen moms by providing maternity and baby clothes for them.
The business continues to grow and is gaining much notoriety with features on CityTV, The Express, Vancouver Sun and many other local papers.
